Translation:

After she played her role as Christiane F in 1981 she became a star. First she was an actor, then she was an author. Joseph Vilsmaier has made a movie of her book ‘Comedian Harmonists’. Nowadays she is working on a movie called ‘Dumm Gelaufen’. It is a comedy.

Natja was 14 when she got the part as Christiane F. Uli Edel spotted her on her way to school. All of the press-attention was too hard for her and she escaped to London. There she met her first love, a DJ. During that relationship he started using drugs. Natja made the decision to leave him and travelled back to Germany.

In 1987 Natja got a place at an art school in Bochum. There she met her second love, Dominic Raake. In 1991 she had a daughter, Emma.

In 1994 she was diagnosed with cancer, which she tried to ignore. She hid the symptoms of the cancer. She played the part of a policewoman in the show Die Kommissarin. She became very thin. After she became public about the disease, she had chemotherapy and lost her hair. During this time her husband left her - the relationship wasn’t strong enough. But her daughter stayed with her, which made her happy.

Nowadays she is in remission and has started writing another book.

Natja has said, ‘I was always dissatisfied about a lot of things, but I’ve learned from my disease. I’m now satisfied with even the little things.’
